I was dubious that this would work, but it was SO GOOD! Slight onion flavor and a texture between a biscuit and bread. Its hot crispy crust on the outside and the warm soft bread-y inside was a real treat on our last backpacking trip!

The kids love this bread! It's a great addition to a meal with stew or soup or eggs or pretty much anything. How long does a package last, generally? I'm wondering how effective it would be to stock up. Thank you!

Wonderful bread! I'd eat this anytime, not just on a trail. Perfect with spaghetti or a hearty soup. More than enough for two and super easy to make.

As always, I try new products at home before hitting the trail. Cooked on low heat, using aluminum foil as cover. Cooked up perfectly, and tasted great. 5 stars.

Simply the best! Easy to make and turns out well. Nice to have warm bread to sop up some of the beef stew and gumbo liquids with. Wish I had been smart enough to take some butter packets from McDonalds...

Just fixed some of this bread last night (pre-hike testing ). Its easy to mix, cooks up pretty fast and tastes darn good!
It will be going on my CDT section hike in June!

My wife and I went backpacking in the Cranberry Wilderness in WVa this past weekend and I tried your rustic bread with the pesto dipping sauce. Holy moly that was freakin awesome! I'm anxious for the next trip to make more. If that doesn't happen soon enough I just may set up the tent in the backyard so I have an excuse to make more

I have made this bread on a number of occasions when guiding customers outdoors, and this has always been a big hit. It has everything you need in the package, and the directions are foolproof. Very satisfying at the end of a long hike.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size (inches in diameter) skillet would you recommend for cooking your Rustic Skillet Bread?
We recommend using a pan that is between 6-8" in diameter. The 6" pan will give you a thicker skillet bread, while the 8" will make a thinner one — both are delicious!
