These little chocolate cakes are absolutely decadent on the trail — fluffy cupcakes with a rich molten chocolate center that melts in your mouth!

About Our MOLTEN CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKES

  • 4 Individual Cakes
     
  • Dietary Considerations:  vegetarian
    • 200 calories per cake
    • 2 g protein per cake
       
  • Meal Net Weight:  7.0 oz | 200 g    
     
  • Meal Includes:  lava cake mix
     
  • Required: cookpot (minimum and recommended size is 6" in diameter); baking kit; cool water

Remove

oxygen absorber from main pouch.

PLACE the steamer base in your pot. 

Add

1/4 cup (2 oz / 60 ml) of cool water to the main pouch and whisk to blend. Watch those corners! Then add water to your pot - just enough to cover the steamer base.

Divide

batter evenly between 4 silicone baking cups. Place cups so that they are level on the steamer base within the pot. Place your pot over heat.

Heat

the water quickly to a boil, then immediately add the lid (ensure all vents/holes are closed) and reduce to a simmer.

 

Steam-Bake

with the lid closed for 12 minutes - no peaking! Then, turn off heat and allow the cakes to rest undisturbed for 5 minutes before opening the lid. Carefully lift cakes from pot.
