Team Jordan Romero - A Quest to Climb the Seven Summits of the World
Packit Gourmet was proud to be the sole food sponsor of Team Jordan Romero's successful summit of Mount Everest on May 22, 2010. In reaching the top of the highest peak on Earth, Jordan became the youngest person (age 13) ever to stand on the summit of Mount Everest and because he was accompanied by his dad Paul and step-mom Karen - together they became the first family to stand on the summit together! As Jordan Romero continues in his personal quest to climb the seven summits of the world he seeks to inspire kids everywhere to develop good eating habits, spend time in the outdoors and aim to "Find Your Own Everest." |

Loyal Mehnert - A 1000 Mile Travelanthropic Journey
In an effort to bring awareness and financial support to Habitat for Humanity efforts in Hurricane Katrina ravaged areas of the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the United States, travelanthropist Loyal Mehnert (a.k.a. The Everyday Journeyman) set off on a 1000 mile 'extreme fundraising hiking adventure' covering nearly 500 miles of varied terrain through France and Spain's Camino de Santiago. Then he hopped on his bike and road an additional 500 miles through the Midwestern United States - all in an effort to "fire people up to volunteer and get involved."
Loyal has been recognized as an "All-Star Among Us" and as "PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian" awards - both which allow this 'career volunteer' a stage on which to promote giving back to one's community through volunteerism. Packit Gourmet is proud to have provided the fuel for Loyal's incredible journey to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause. |
