Butter powder is not intended to replace spreadable butter. Because oil can't be dehydrated, it's main purpose is to replace the flavor of butter in dry mixes.
However, we've been able to make a creamy butter spread that works reasonably well on toast or biscuits. We recommend mixing 2½ teaspoons
of our butter powder with 1 teaspoon of cool water and ¼ teaspoon of
olive oil or canola oil. Blending with a whisk works best for a truly creamy texture, but beating it with a fork works just fine too. Makes about 1½ teaspoons of spreadable butter - enough for a couple of good buttery biscuits.
Butter powder does not need to be refrigerated, however, once reconstituted into a spread it will need to be kept in a reasonably cool location.
